Build a Career in Insurance, Sales, and Financial Services

Scott Cameron State Farm is looking for a motivated, competitive, and relationship-focused Account Associate to join our growing sales team.

This is not a passive sales position. You will spend your day talking with prospective and existing customers, asking questions, understanding their needs, educating them about their options, and helping families make better decisions about protecting what they have worked hard to build.

We are looking for someone who wants to develop professionally, improve their sales skills, earn based on performance, and become part of a high-performing team.

If you are coachable, competitive, comfortable talking with people, and motivated by results, we want to meet you.

As an Account Associate, you will
  • Develop new customer relationships through leads, referrals, outbound activity, and follow-up.
  • Conduct needs-based conversations to understand each customer’s situation, priorities, and potential risks.
  • Educate customers about appropriate insurance products and coverage options.
  • Quote and market State Farm auto, homeowners, renters, life, health, and other available insurance products.
  • Identify opportunities for deeper insurance and financial conversations based on customer needs.
  • Schedule appointments and conduct follow-up with prospective customers.
  • Build relationships with existing customers and identify additional opportunities to help them.
  • Ask for referrals and create new business opportunities from existing relationships.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and document follow-up activity.
  • Consistently work toward individual and team production goals.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training, coaching, role-play, and performance development.
How We Approach Sales

We do not believe great salespeople simply talk faster, pressure customers, or memorize closing lines. Our approach is consultative and needs-based.

We train our team to
  • Ask better questions.
  • Listen before presenting solutions.
  • Understand what the customer is trying to accomplish.
  • Identify risks the customer may not have considered.
  • Explain options in clear, understandable language.
  • Help customers make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure.
  • Build long-term relationships instead of chasing one-time transactions.
The goal is not simply to sell another policy. The goal is to become a trusted resource for the customer and their family.

We are looking for someone who is
  • Competitive You enjoy setting goals and working toward measurable results.
  • Coachable You are willing to receive feedback, role-play, practice, and improve.
  • Confident communicating You are comfortable talking with people by phone, virtually, and in person.
  • Curious You naturally ask questions and want to understand people before recommending solutions.
  • Resilient You understand that sales involves rejection and follow-up, and you do not allow either to derail you.
  • Self-motivated You do not need someone constantly reminding you what needs to be done.
  • Accountable You take ownership of your activity, results, and commitments.
  • Relationship-oriented You understand that trust drives long-term success.
  • Organized You can manage leads, appointments, follow-ups, and customer information consistently.
  • Team-oriented You want to succeed individually while contributing to the success of the entire agency.
Previous insurance or sales experience can be helpful, but it is not everything.

We place significant value on work ethic, communication ability, competitiveness, coachability, and willingness to learn.

Applicable insurance licensing and training requirements must be successfully completed.
